Appearance
Adult : 1-1.5mm long yellowish body, covered with white, waxy powder, and two pairs of white wings, with hind wings long and prominent.
Life Cycle
Eggs (up to 120) sub-eliptical, light yellow in colour, laid singly on the undersurface of leaves. Nymphs hatch after 3-7 days and go through 4 instars. Pupal stage lasts for 2-8 days, with total life cycle from egg to adult taking 14-120 days.
Notes
A polyphagous pest, feeding on cotton, tomato, sweet potato, cabbage, cauliflower, melon, brinjal, okra and many other cultivated plants.
